Polish film evening at the IFW clubhouse

During the rather chilly evening of the 5th of April the club International Friends of Wrocław held another Polish movie evening. This time in cooperation with us, the Feel Think Write project.

Both IFW members and guests watched "80 million". It is the story of four Solidarity members withdrawing a large sum of money - 80 000 000 złoty - which at the time was equal to around 250 000 dollars. Of course, as with everything in Poland, withdrawing the legally acquired sum of money was not easy and had to be carefully planned.

We also invited the author of the book which was used as the basis for the screenplay, Katarzyna Kaczorowska, who explained the differences between the movie and the reality and expanded everyone's knowledge of these important days in Polish history.

After the movie ended we held a short discussion during which many uncertainities were explained and everyone could share their point of view both on the movie and the history.

Everyone was also invited to share their insights and thoughts with the Feel Think Write International Project.
